Hi, I'm Ivy. Welcome to loneliwish O:)

I'm writing you from the highdensity suburb of Los Angeles California that I have come to know as my hometown. My favorite things in life are friends and art, whether that be food, perfume, or novels.

MY PURPOSE is to reveal my thoughts to you, my feelings, and my impressions of things. Most people would love to feel understood, and I'm no different. I hope others who visit can recognize themselves occasionally in something I have written. I think if that were to happen, it would make me extremely happy.

Thank you for visiting. Have a nice stay <333

. . . from dusk to foggy morning.

FAQ ( Click me ! )
Q : It's spelt lonely, jsyk. Lonelyyy. Note las íes griegas. Hope this helps.
A : That's not much of a question.
Q : So ?
A : Judging by the emboldened Q which faithfully precedes each of your lines you're meant to ask me things.
Q : Okay, okay. Did you never learn to spell ? And, hey . . . I refreshed the page and it seems you still haven't amended your site name in accordance with the gentle urging of my correction. Perhaps you're just pigheaded and vain ?
A : . . .
Q : Blegh, this has fast become unproductive.
A : And here I thought we were just beginning to get somewhere, what with the invective slinging.
Q : Maybe we should call it a wrap.
A : Unfortunately there are certain . . . ontological constraints to be considered.
Q : Oh, why, what ever do you mean ? Is that what you want me to say ? Why do you have to act all spooky and vague all the time ?
A : Well, as a set of speaker-abstractions bred of a specific genre of internet writing, our continued existence is contingent upon my holding and your seeking hidden information.
Q : Alright whatever. Then like an acquaintance passing in the hall I'll ask How are you today ?
A : I've been worse. I saw a hummingbird this morning, frail and hovering, investigate the trunk of a tree. I felt impressed, hopeful. I'm trying to read it as a sign.
Q : How fr*cking auspicious. You know, you're a regular goddamn seer. No, really.
A : Again, I don't know if that's exactly a question.
Q : You're kidding. I said 'how,' a notorious question-word. It's right there, you oaf.
A : Sorry but I don't think that cuts it . . . I mean —
Q : You know what ? I'm sorry too. I never wanted to be this. Some nameless, conditionally extant offspring of a marginal form. Condemned to a humiliating social role defined by perpetual ignorance and goggle-eyed confusion. Just my luck !
A : On the name front . . . we can probably do a name, if that helps.
Croquette Sandwich : I guess that's a little better. If only nominally.
A : Très chic ! But look, it sounds like you're having a rough day. Were I not equally bound by the strict demands of the form, I'd like to pick up the interrogative slack and ask you how you're getting on. I'm worried about you, Sandwich.
Croquette Sandwich : Well thanks but barring the increasingly strange and upsetting contingencies that seem to govern my life I'm doing just fine. Can you just say the thing that my initial Q was so obviously predicated on ?
A : Sure. Sorry for taking so long.
Croquette Sandwich : Ehh, it's no biggie. Shoot.
A : loneliwish takes after a personal mondegreen of mine, abridged to domain-name–friendly length. The song it arose from is nothing special — I don't even really like it, in all honesty — but the mishearing I rent from it always stuck with me : "As lonely as a wish [come] true." To me, this means a wish coming true is so rare, so unusual, that such wishes are wont to feel lonesome. And then the solecism is the fault of e. e. cummings' poem "l(a" as it was through the magic of its enjambment I first noticed the way that, in loneliness, one sits cradled between itself ( 1 one 1 ) ; and that the i that follows is both another ( this time Roman ) number one and the firstperson singular, now reeking of the solitariness that is, "l(a" suggests, at the heart of self. Plus I like how writing it this way makes the last bit of the domain read "I wish."
Croquette Sandwich : Huh. So it's a misspelling of a mishearing ?
A : That's about the size of it. A series of beautiful mistakes.
Croquette Sandwich : Wow. You really are a blockhead, you know that ?
